Is it possible to link to external bitmaps instead of importing them statically into an IPP file?
Our problem is, that all our bitmaps are created fully automatically. This enables us to create translated bitmaps very easily or update screenshots quickly after something has changes within the program.
But those can only be bitmaps. I'd like to use the additional features, which IPP offers (especially hotspots). What I would need is some way to automatically create new IPP files containing those newly created bitmaps, or even easier, link to those bitmaps instead of statically import them into the IPP file.
Any idea? Maybe a feature request?

Henning,
You can't do this by linking but you can quickly update your IPP files with a new background or a new bitmap layer imported from an external file if you set them up right. This is described in the help in the Re-editing Your Screenshots Chapter, which you can see here in the online version:
http://www.it-authoring.com/info/impict ... nshots.htm
You could probably automate this process with a keyboard macro program. I use the $25 KeyText from http://www.mjmsoft.com/ -- I find it ideal for automating H&M because of its power, flexibility and support for interactive user input. I haven't tried it with Impict yet though...
