I've had a major data loss incident and backups are partly corrupted. So I'm having to piece together my project from surviving source files.
I seem to have lost nearly all of the images that were in my document, but I do have a copy of a published EXE help file produced a few days ago from an Ewriter skin, so it will be helpful in helping me to reconstruct my H&M project from scratch. All of the embedded images are OK, so if I could only figure out how to extract them from the EXE file it would be a MASSIVE help. They are a mixture of JPG, PNG and H&M's own IPP format.
Is there any way to extract all of the image files from the EWriter EXE help file?
Later: Actually, if there was also a way to extract the topic/text files that would be even more help.
Extracting images from EWriter exe file?

Hi Apple,
I'm not sure about this. I'm checking with our developers and we'll get back to you on it. You may have to resort to your latest daily backuip.

Re: Extracting images from EWriter exe file?
Update: There is a roundabout way to achieve this. If you have a Mac available you can use the Mac eViewer to open it. This viewer works by unpacking the contents to the Mac's standard temp directory, from where you can then recover all the HTML files and images while the viewer is still open. If you don't have a Mac available contact me on support AT ec-software.com (replace the AT with @) and we can arrange doing it for you.

Re: Extracting images from EWriter exe file?
Hi TIm. Thank your for the offer of help - terrific support!
I've managed to recover the text and some of the original source images from another PC, so I have been reconstituting the project by copious amounts of copy and paste. Its been quite a slog, but I just have to take a dozen or so screenshot images again, so hopefully it will all be completed by the end of today.
Thank you for the offer. It is very much appreciated but it looks like I'll be OK now.
