Numbering Steps format change at 10?

Unread post by Gerold Krommer »

Hi,

I have a snipx with > 10 numbering steps. The format of the bullets in the generated table changes at 11 (and is single digit) as shown below (BTW I cannot attach .snipx to the message):
2024-04-14_14-20-13.jpg
The table looks like this:
2024-04-14_14-25-52.jpg
Bug or did I something wrong?

Kind regards,

/Gerold

Hi Gerold,

Thanks for posting this. I can reproduce the behavior in SnipSVG => Help+Manual and we'll get it fixed asap. (I've moved this topic to the SnipSVG section as it's more relevant there)

This is probably a bug. Did you insert this in Help+Manual? H&M should be able to handle 3 and 4 byte Unicode symbols (that's what we are dealing with here). MS Word may apply some extra tricks and sometimes changes Unicode symbols for different ones, if it sees them fit better for some reason. The numbering of 11-20 is obviously wrong. However, it is correct that the symbols look different. SnipSVG uses Unicode HTML symbols and formats this text with the color you select for the numbering tag. Unicode symbols are plain text and can be easily reformatted. But the Unicode table contains just a limited range of those symbols.

We currently prefer &#10122 to &#10131, because they deliver the best results and the negative circles are fully colored. Especially if Arabic numbers are combined with letters. But these range from 1-10 only. There is an optional range of &#10102 to &#9460, which goes from 1-20, but the numbers look different. In any case, beyond 20 we are out of luck. There are no symbols for that in the Unicode table.
