V5 Minimalist ewriter skin: e-mail feedback

Unread post by BertholdL »

I cannot get the e-mail feedback settings right.

You see the subject continuing in the body text.

The help text for FB_SUBJ says:

Subject line of feedback emails. The title of the topic will be added after the subject line automatically.

How can I fix this? Do I have to use variables?

Thanks in advance!

The display is correct. It just looks as if your project doesn't have topic headers. Normally, the Topic header text is inserted both in the subject line and in the body of the email after the Reference:. The repeated reference in the body of the text is intentional because the subject is often not always visible in many email clients.

If you select feedback on a topic with a header with the standard English settings it will look like this:

My project has topic headers. What can be the reason then? I activated the OPT_HDFORMAT parameter, so I use the formatted topic header from the H+M editor. Does this have an impact?

I'm not sure. I need to have a look at your project. Please email a small demo in HMXZ format to support AT ec-software.com (replace the AT with @) and I'll have a look at it on Monday.

I have created and sent a demo project as well as my ewriter skin.

The skin seems to be blocked:

Generierender Server: BE0P281MB0274.DEUP281.PROD.OUTLOOK.COM
ecsupport@it-authoring.com
mx.google.com
Remote server returned '552-5.7.0 This message was blocked because its content presents a potential 552-5.7.0 security issue. To review our message content and attachment content 552-5.7.0 guidelines, go to 552 5.7.0 https://support.google.com/mail/?p=BlockedMessage d2e1a72fcca58-7c3f0766593si7014009b3a.559 - gsmtp'

I hope the project is transferred at least.

That is normal because the mail server will block anything containing scripts or other formats that can be malware, like EXE or CHM files. The download link you sent worked fine and that is the correct way to send files like that.

Our hosting provider has switched the email server to MS Exchange (we were not able to choose this), which is much stricter than the previous Linux-based server, where it was possible for us to log into the server and pick up such attachments manually.

Thank you, Tim, for your reply. So deactivating the OPT_HDFORMAT is a possible solution. (If it is no secret, you may as well post your answer here in the forum).

In fact, I activated the OPT_HDFORMAT parameter in the first place because the topic title from the skin is too small for me. Is there any skin option in the toolbox or anywhere to adjust the font size of the topic title (and the breadcrumbs as well)?

Look in the Topic Pane variables group. TOPICTITLE_FONTSIZE_DESK. You can't change the breadcrumbs size with a setting. You could possibly adjust this in the CSS but I don't recommend that you try. You probably want to make the breadcrumbs font bigger and that would be a bad idea, because they can get quite long.
