Change default text style from Image Caption to text style Normal after inserting an image

I don't use text style Image Caption which is is default created after inserting an image.
After insertion I have to change the text style to Normal.

Is it possible to set the default text style to Normal?

No, because image captions are a special case that doesn't have any paragraph attributes. Just change the definition of the the Image Caption style to style the text as you want to have it.
