Problem related with helpman_topicinit.js

Unread post by Albert Gracia »

Hi.

I was creating a topic with toggles of expanding text and after compile it (in CHM format)It displayed the Message:

An error has occurred in the script on this page.

Line: 94
Char: 5
Error: Unable to get value of the property 'setAttribute': object is null or undefined
Code: 0
URL: "Project Path"::/helpman_topicinit.js

Do you want to continue running scripts on this page?

And there's no way to fix it.

Any idea??

Thanks a lot

Hi Albert,

Check your topic carefully. This message means that your topic contains an orphaned expanding text toggle link without a matching table to toggle. They can be difficult to find if you have the link style turned off for them. You can usually find them by searching for the string "toggle" (not case sensitive) in the XML Source tab below the main editor window.

Found this topic while having the same issue with H & M Version 7.

I went through the XML and every instance of "toggle" had a table below it. The page seems to display fine, just that nasty message comes up then I land on the page.

There is probably still an orphaned toggle on the page somewhere. Check in the Compiler Messages tab after publishing your project. You will probably find a message relating to the orphaned toggle there. If you continue to have problems mail the project to me at support AT ec-software.com (replace the AT with @) and I will check it for you.
