Hi all,
I have a section in the help file which only consist of videos.
I have entered them by using toggles.
All works fine, but when I go to the Video topic, all the videos start playing in the background. Which means, when I expand the toggle, the videos are already either finished, or halfway through.
I did go on the video editor and de-selected the Play Automatically checkbox, but if I click OK and go back into the editor, the box is checked again.
Is it something I've done wrong with the editing / creating of the video?
It's a swf file with a playback controller included. could that be the problem?
Thanks

Re: Videos - Play Automatically
I've republished the video, making sure that there isn't an auto play on there (which there was).
Unfortunately, it still starts automatically.
Some added info: the video is set as inline.

Re: Videos - Play Automatically
Another thing I noticed is that even if I change it to be as a lightbox, the changes aren't saved.
It defaults back to Inline and Play Automatically.
*edit*
I have now realised that when I change it to Lightbox AND change the percentage preview, it doesn't start automatically.
But if I change it back to Inline (which is the setting I want for this), it starts automatically again

Re: Videos - Play Automatically
Hi Heidi,
I think the autostart getting activated automatically is a little glitch here. I'll get Alex to check it right away.

Re: Videos - Play Automatically
I cannot confirm this behaviour. When you run the video in a lightbox, autostart is active and cannot be de-selected (checkbox is disabled). For lightboxes, this is true. When you change from "Lightbox" to "Inline", the autoplay checkbox becomes enabled, and is still selected from the setting before. But you can simply tick it off.
A setting of 100% = play inline, no lightbox. Any setting <> 100% means lightbox. To be as backwards compatible with HM5 as possible, we don't save an extra option for the lightbox mode, but assume it from the preview zoom factor.
What is the preview % setting? It defaults back to Inline and Play Automatically.

Re: Videos - Play Automatically
The swf I created doesn't autostart. Which is how I want it (previously it wasn't, so I rectified that).
Using the 'non-autostart' swf, I can view in a lightbox without autostart if I change the preview to less than 100%. It seems that if I display less than 100% preview, the swf settings take place.
However, I want the videos as inline and not lightbox. When added to inline (regardless of toggles), the videos autostart as soon as I view the topic on the published webhelp. I cannot deselect the Autostart option when using Inline.
This can be a bit confusing if you open the topic which has several videos (hidden in toggle box) and they all start playing at the same time. (I have sound enabled).
Hope this makes sense?

Re: Videos - Play Automatically
I'm very confused now..... and my apologies for confusing everyone else in the process.
I just published another help file (with videos) and these are 100% okay - they don't autoplay. I now believe it's something I have done (which is more than likely the case)..
I think I may just have to start again and see where I've gone wrong.
