Splitting Tables to the Next Page, But Not Within Rows

Unread postby Rainer Oehry » Wed Jun 27, 2018 3:08 pm

I have many tables with several rows and multiple lines in one row.

If a activate the option to split a table to the next page, it is often split within a row, so some lines of the row remain on the first page and the rest goes to the next page. This sometimes looks strange:
Code: Select all
variable 1  |               | text
variable 2  |   nvarchar    | text
variable 3  |     (255)     | text
variable 4  |               | text

If this is split between the second and the third line in this row, the (255) goes to the next page, which is irritating.

Is there an option to instruct H&M to split the table to the next page, but not within a row? I did some experimenting with "keeping paragraph with next" within the table cell, but sometimes the multiple lines do not come from individual paragraphs, but from longer text split automatically into more than one line, and the results were somewhat unpredictable.

Is there a better possibility?

Hi Rainer,

The split does have to be within a row, you can't currently explicitly specify a split at row boundaries. Your best option here is really to use the paragraph options for keeping things together. You might want to add this as a request in the Wish List section. 8)
