Error - could not create temporary files for viewing for preview

Unread post by granthedges »

The title says it all - when I try to preview my project, I get a message saying that the temporary files for viewing could not be created. It's a large project (95 slides) but there's no audio on it, so I'm surprised that this issue is occurring. It seems to work fine immediately after I restart my machine, but after I try to preview my project a couple times, the error starts to occur.

Screenshot attached to this post, thanks in advance for the help!

Hi Grant,

This is unusual. Is it possible that you installed HelpXplain under a different Windows user account that does not have the same read/write permissions as the account you are working under?

Can you regularly publish the project?

Hi Tim:
I've had this issue twice. The first time was because I pasted a picture directly from the web. I deleted the image, then added a local image, and it was previewed normally. The second time was because I imported the PowerPoint template and didn't make any edits on the first page. Once I've removed this page, I'll preview it. It doesn't seem like this error occurs anymore, but it may help to find problems with the software.
Best regards
Cory
