Having eWriter open Xplains always from the Web

Unread post by Olivier Beltrami »

Hi,

I am about to create a series of Xplain tutorials to include in my H&M project.

Is it possible for the Xplain object inserted in an H&M topic to always open the online version on the Xplain, regardless if the topic is in an eWriter output or a WebHelp one ?

I guess what I am looking for is that the PDF Print option (When publishing a PDF/Print manual, Print the first slide only, and link this Xplain to the following Web page) be also available for the eWriter format.

Very best regards,

Olivier

The easiest way to achieve this is to do it yourself: Make a screenshot of your first slide and insert this as an Internet link to your Web-based Xplain. 8)

So, when inserting Media, I would choose "Custom Web Content" rather than "Help Xplain" ?

No. Don't use the media tool at all since you are not inserting any media. You are inserting a regular Internet link. Use the normal link tool and choose an image as the link type.
