What do you do if you need to use a % in Topic ID for Context Help link?

Topic IDs can't contain characters like that. They are the XML filenames of your topics and also the HTML filenames in all HTML output formats, so they need to conform to all the rules for HTML filenames. The following rules are stricter than absolutely necessary, but put you on the safe side:

- Only regular ASCII a..z, A..Z, 0..9, - and _ (and remember that the filenames will be downcased in HTML output, and that non-Microsoft web servers are all case-sensitive)
- No spaces, non-alphanumeric characters, accented characters, umlauts or special characters
- Don't start a filename with a number
