Skin files locked "in use" on network
I recently upgraded to version 9 and Premium Pack 5. I'm having an issue with the Webhelp skin being left in a state of "in use" in the network location it is stored. Didn't have this issue before. I can get totally out of H&M and even reboot my desktop. Yet, when I try to publish using the skin, it tells me that it can't open the skin because "it is in use in another program". The only way to remedy the situation is to reboot our file server.

Re: Skin files locked "in use" on network
Hi Seth,
There must be an instance of Toolbox with the skin open in it somewhere, that is what locks it. If you want to avoid this entirely you can, provided you are careful. Open Regedit and go to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ECSOFTWARE\HMToolbox
Change the values of the lockProjects and lockSkins settings from 1 to 0 and restart. You will then also see warnings reminding you that skin locking is off when you edit a skin.
