In the export settings for ewriter help I use an icon (format *.ico).
In the ewriter helpfile the result is:
In the Windows task bar the icon is blurry and bold.
My ico file contains several sizes from 16×16 to 256×256.
It seems that instead of the 24×24 icon one of the bigger icons is displayed (48×48 or bigger).

On the screenshot my ewriter help is to the right; to the left is my ico file renamed to exe and fixed to the taskbar for comparison (brilliant icon as should be).
Another test:
Exporting with a customized ico file that contains only the 16, 20 an 24 resolutions.
The result is the same.
Still another test: Windows taskbar setting “Show small task bar icons”.

Here the result is as desired: 16×16 for both icons.
In the upper left corner the icon is not centered:

Or is it just too little? It could fill the whole square to the full height of the title bar.
What can I do about it? Is it an eviewer issue?
And is it possible to control (deactivate) the icon in the upper left corner and in the Windows task bar separately? I could imagine using the icon only in the taskbar, not in the upper left corner.

I have emailed the two ICO files to support AT ec-software.com in case that helps to recreate the case.
Thanks. We're looking into it. It may take a couple of days before you get an answer on this as there are a number of other projects being worked on and slightly unclear icons don't have top priority at the moment.
