Selecting image objects to edit and other suggestions

Unread post by Joe Berry »

4 suggestions I'd like to request for TNT:

1. Ability to select any object AFTER it has already been applied to an image so edits or modifications can be made to it.

2. More precision (1 degree?) increments in rotation tool of arrow object

3. Table object with user-defined rows/columns/cell BG color/padding, etc.

4. Ability to select order (back, front, backward, forward (1 level), etc.

Hi Joe,

This isn't possible to implement without totally changing the structure of the program -- as soon as an object is added to the image it is part of the image. What you are describing is possible with Impict, the screenshot editor included free with H&M. Impict fully supports multiple editable objects, which are effectively like the layers in PhotoShop, provided you use Impict's own .IPP file format, which is also supported directly in H&M. (Just open your TNT image in Impict and save as .IPP before editing.)

Quick fix: However, if you select Undo after merging an object with the background you can unmerge it and edit it again.
2. More precision (1 degree?) increments in rotation tool of arrow object
This is already possible but it's done with the resize handles of the object, not with the rotation dial, which only sets one of 8 basic orientations. Click on Help in the Line Properties dialog and scroll down to the bottom for detailed instructions. 8)
3. Table object with user-defined rows/columns/cell BG color/padding, etc.
This is already possible using cut and paste from Excel. Just create and format your table in Excel. Then select, copy and paste it to your image in TNT. No need to reinvent the wheel here... :)
4. Ability to select order (back, front, backward, forward (1 level), etc.
This wouldn't be relevant in TNT because there are never more than two objects, the background object and the object you are currently editing. As soon as you add another object the previous object becomes part of the background. However, all this and more is already supported in Impict.
