I am going through all my bit maps (many), changing them to 8 bit 256 colours and reloading them so hlp files will work with old Win95/98 systems.
When saving a bmp, Impict always seems to default to 24 bit true colour, even when you have loaded a bmp which was previously saved in 8 bit format.
If a picture has been loaded from a bmp, it would be nice to have an indicator somewhere showing what colour format was set.
Also, it would be good for Impict to retain the last used colour setting so you don't have to keep remembering to change it (every time).

Each image in Impict remembers (temporarily) the color settings. If you save one image with 256 colors in bitmap format, you might not want to do this with the second image as well. If you save the same image again, Impict presents the options previously used.
