When changing the properties of an image - larger or smaller, a User has the choice of changing the pixel sizes for width or height.

I would like to see a checkbox with "Maintain Aspect", so if checked, and the width or height was adjusted, the height or width respectively would be calculated automatically.

Forget this,

After more fiddling I found that the object (image) can be changed and the maintain aspect (lock) exists. When finished the auto size can be used and the background will take on the shape of the image - nice

more research next time.

The resize function (in the bitmap dialog box) is preferred over the simple stretch function, because it performs additional tasks to retain the image quality.

In opposite to the stretch display, the image resize can only be undone quite after you applied it - when you save the image, the resized bitmap has a new dimension. The stretch display on the other hand leaves the original bitmap untouched, it just displays it stretched.

By the way, when you resize it with the mouse, you stretch the bitmap while maintaining the aspect.
