H&M4 - Using "styles" to change font in the mi

Unread post by esfabian »

"Styles" in H&M3 could mean "font only" - which allowed me to assign keystrokes to change fonts for either the highlighted characters or for characters to be entered in the middle of a line, with change to neither text layout nor other portions of the line or paragraph.

The font styles automatically converted from H&M3 now act on the whole whole paragraph. I could not figure out how to make them behave the way the did.

I did discover that I could rebuild them from "selections" to be "font only", but not from the "edit styles" menu.

Hi Steve,

To create an HM4 font-only style from Edit Styles...:

1. click Add Style or select the one you want to change.

2. in the Based on Style: box select (none). This is important.

3. click Reset Style. This is important.

4. click Font Settings.

5. don't click Paragraph Settings. This is important.

6. assign shortcut.

In the style lists, font-only styles are labelled a. Paragraph styles
have a paragraph symbol.

Martin.
