Is anyone else experience SnipSVG hangs after a Capture?
It used to work and I cannot correlate an event with the start of the fails. The hang is infinite and the CPU for the SnipSVG permanently uses 12% of an Intel 9 Processor (some cores, cant't remember how many).
I can only go into taskman and kill it. Working on an existing image works until I want to exit, then hangs.
I 'reinstalled' it by running the standalone installer to no avail. Hangs.
Desparate,

Hi Gerold,
We don't have any other reports of this yet. What version are you using? It should be 2.1. If you have an older version running and Help+Manual 10 is up to date, the older version may be starting up automatically when you start Windows. You can fix it like this:

- Close SnipSVG -- check the Windows Tray as well to make sure it's not running there.
- Go to View > Program Options > General in Help+Manual and make sure the default graphics app field is empty. Delete any path there if there is one, including and especially paths to SnipSVG.
- Start SnipSVG by clicking the Graphics Editor icon in the Project menu.
- In File > Preferences activate the option to start automatically with Windows

Re: SnipSVG hangs consistently
Thanks Tim,
ist is actually worse. I start it and right away am not able to close it, it does not react.
There is clearly something fishy with the installation. I would really like to uninstall it, but there is no entry under programs.
ad 1. Done
ad 2. was empty
ad 3. done
ad 4. not able to do so, hangs
Best regards,
Gerold

Re: SnipSVG hangs consistently
You can get a fresh install by reinstalling the current version of Help+Manual "on top", because that now also installs SnipSVG, which is part of the installation.
Are you using a third-party antivirus solution instead of Windows own Defender? Strange problems like this are very often caused by third-party AV, which always cause more problems than they solve. If you are, try turning your AV system off temporarily and restarting Windows.
